The Robotic Warriors Club (RWC) is a yearlong (16-week) after-school program where middle and high school students receive hands-on experience designing, developing, programming, and constructing robots. A primary goal for this club is to prepare student teams to enter one of their own robots in the annual National Robotics Challenge (NRC) in Marion, Ohio. Indiana Tech has supported teams in the NRC since 1995 and has a long history of winning at this competition. This year’s NRC will be on April 15-18th, 2026. The program has three divisions— that challenge students to learn different aspects of robotics while giving them the engineering tools and team development to take on division specific learning outcomes. Student will be assigned a division and work in teams. First Division: Maze bots (1st year) Mid-Division: Hockey or Ant weight-plastic combat (2-3 years)Advanced Division: Students choose from Rescue Robot, Sumo, Robot Problem Solving, Beetle Weight Combat (2-5 years) Students will receive two hours of instruction every other Wednesday from Indiana Tech engineering faculty and advisors who are experienced in robotics. Advanced teams may have additional optional meetings when more build and testing is needed.
